Founded in 1985, Euro-Excellence originally specialized in importing high-end chocolate and confectionery, contributing to the development of the premium chocolate category in Canada. Over the years, Euro-Excellence has significantly expanded and diversified its catalog to offer its customers a wide range of gourmet products. Since 2008, the company has operated a temperature-controlled facility to ensure product quality in Candiac (Quebec). The company currently works with nearly 70 suppliers from all over the world and represents a portfolio of recognized brands in their home market, among which are Valrhona, Anis de Flavigny, Guylian, Lutti, Pasta Di Martino, Valor, Haribo, Clovis, Pâtes Grand-Mère, Petit Navire and Hénaff, to name just a few.

Euro-Excellence has sales offices in Vancouver, Toronto and Montreal and relies on a Canada-wide sales force serving a network of more than 6,500 retail outlets on a monthly basis, including supermarkets, pharmacies, independent grocery stores and convenience stores. Acquisition by LS Distribution North America, a division of Lagardère Services group


Since its acquisition in July 2011, Euro-Excellence is a division of LS Distribution North America and benefits from the operational and financial support of the Lagardère Services group. Sister company of LS Travel Retail North America, Euro-Excellence provides privileged access to LSTRNA airport stores across Canada to its partner brands.

Brand builder with a national sales force

Beyond the traditional logistic model of a national importer and distributor, Euro-Excellence works as a brand builder on the Canadian market, by investing in the promotion and long-term development of its partner brands. In order to do so, its marketing department is in constant contact with the export teams of each brand with which it jointly defines the annual volume targets and implements marketing strategies to achieve them. These strategies are then implemented by Euro-Excellence’s sales force, whose performance is monitored on a monthly basis by its Regional Sales Directors, allowing the Marketing department to provide regular sales performance reports to each export team.


Turnkey marketing solutions to increase your sales

Euro-Excellence has permanent display fixtures across Canada, exclusively dedicated to its partner brands. This approach has allowed us to extend the distribution of many European brands in supermarkets & independent channels across the country. Acting as Category Captain for the premium chocolate category at many retailers across Canada, Euro-Excellence offers in-store merchandising and shelf optimization services. Based on this success, Euro-Excellence has extended this approach to other imported fine food categories.


In addition, the company annually attends B2B and B2C shows to increase brand awareness among Canadian consumers and to continuously increase its sales. Euro-Excellence works in partnership with different external agencies to offer and develop national sampling programs, public relations campaigns and interactive promotions.

Flexible logistics and excellent customer service

For over 25 years, the strong distribution network of Euro-Excellence has fostered loyalty among its manufacturing partners. Indeed, the company provides retailers with unequalled service quality through its flexible pickup and delivery capability: we can sell by unit, case or pallet. We can deliver direct to warehouse or DSD to minimize client storage requirements. Each sales agent has an electronic tablet to access to historical data by store, take orders, and view real-time warehouse inventory. These tools and processes help to ship orders within 24 hours and reduce backorders for our clients. Operating with Tier 1 software (SAP and Manhattan Associates WMS) offers flexibility and allows Euro-Excellence to easily adapt and connect with various retailers’ EDI systems.

Support of an internal quality assurance department 

Euro-Excellence is one of the few importers to have its own Quality Assurance department internally, which works jointly with the Canadian Food Inspection Agency to ensure compliance of the imported products to the Canadian regulations. More precisely, the department checks and adjusts the lists of ingredients, the nutrition facts, the allergen warnings, the suggested uses, (…), which allows to simplify the import of your products.
